Best option for a tranquil Sunday roast Lunch if traveling from Barnstaple or Ilfracombe

3 Park at Barbrook

We Think this is your best option if you are visiting from Barnstaple or Ilfracombe for your Sunday roast Lunch.

Park for Free at Barbrook and follow the path on the start of the interactive map shown below, follow the riverside path for 1.1km and you will reach the picturesque bridge that crossed the river and into The Cottage Inn grounds.

The Riverside walk is one of the best kept secrets on Exmoor, you will see waterfalls, wildlife and nature at its finest, what's more its just enough exercise to blow away the old cockles before lunch and just enough to see off a full belly on the way back to the car.

The Terrain is uneven in places so wear appropriate footwear and if you have access difficulties try to avoid, remember this is a recommendation of a nice Sunday idea only, do relevant research before leaving.

Proper Roast Lunch awaits you

At The Cottage Inn a fine Roast lunch awaits, we believe the key to a good roast is starting with the best ingredients, local butcher Ivan Clarke supplies us with great roasting joints and much of our veg is from a local allotment, or Arthur David collects from the veg market daily.

Our Roasts are traditionally cooked from scratch in a traditional way, saving every bit of flavour from the cooking process, of course we always have a vegan option available also.

We are big fans of local Ale so be sure that you can grab a fresh pint of beer from the likes of Otter brewery or Exmoor Ales. while here.

Roast Lunches consist of, Meat, Roasties, Cauli Cheese, Yorkshire pudding and a selection of at least 3 Vegetables.
